35-year-old M'sian is latest victim, Covid-19 death toll at 24
CORONAVIRUS | The death toll from Covid-19 has risen to 24 after a 35-year-old Malaysian sucumbed to the illness last night.
Health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said Patient 1,056 had a history of travel to Indonesia in early March.
The patient, who died at 9.30pm yesterday, was warded on March 18 at the Kuala Lumpur Hospital.
The Health Ministry extended its condolences to the family.
As of yesterday, there were 2,031 cases of Covid-19 in the country.
Forty-five patients remain in ICU, with 32 requiring breathing assistance.
There have been 215 recoveries.
Noor Hisham has said the Health Ministry was preparing for the worst and that 3,000 beds in 33 hospitals have been prepared.
