This article is 4 years old

CORONAVIRUS | The family of Teluk Intan Hospital Emergency and Trauma Department head Dr Samsu Ambia Ismail, who tested positive for Covid-19, and whose cheerful "TikTok" video went viral recently, has now recovered and discharged from the hospital.

The happy news was shared by the family's eldest daughter, Erika Syamim, 17, on Twitter.

In a tweet, she shared a photo of her family with the caption “Finally COVID free!!”.

Earlier, she uploaded a TikTok video that showed her family "transforming" their hospital clothes into regular ones.

“Okay, my family has been discharged! Thank you so much for all the kind prayers. Here’s probably our last TikTok together in the hospital,” she wrote.

Meanwhile, in a Twitter conversation with Bernama, Erika Syamim said they were confirmed free of the virus after three tests and now they have to undergo quarantine at home for 14 days.

“We have to (adhere) to strict quarantine. Food and raw materials will be sent to us by the authorities,” she said.

Currently, she said, they were in the process of cleaning and disinfecting their home.

“Now we are spending our time as a healthy family at home and we are also helping people out there who are asking us about this disease,” she explained.
