Gov't told to snip MCO barber shop plans and 7 news from yesterday

KINI ROUNDUP | Key headlines you may have missed yesterday, in brief.

1. Plans to allow barbers to operate during the partial lockdown has met resistance from the Health Ministry, and also a hairdressing guild. 

2. The Higher Education Ministry was advised to be patient before allowing those stranded in student accommodations during the MCO to go home.

3. There were three new Covid-19 deaths, 184 new infections, and 165 recoveries.

4. Defence Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob cautioned the public against breaching MCO or risk an immediate court fine or being brought to court right away.

5. The National Security Council has instructed the police and Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) to take “stern action” against online media that misreport the news.

6. The MCMC questioned a former deputy minister over a Facebook post claiming that there was an out of control situation at the Customs, Immigration and Quarantine Complex in Johor Bahru.

7. PKR denied claims that it is behind a purported move to encourage its members into producing short videos critical of the Perikatan Nasional government.

8. MCA Youth chief Nicole Wong drubbed and later apologised to Women, Family, and Community Development Deputy Minister Siti Zailah Mohd Yusoff over the latter's advice on domestic relationships.
