Dr M: Covid-19 crisis not a time for popularity contest

With the country currently facing the Covid-19 crisis, former prime minister Dr Mahathr Mohamad said now is not the time to see who is popular.

Instead, he said all parties should make an effort to tackle the pandemic together.

He said Malaysia was currently facing the worst health and economic crisis in history.

"We need to find ways to overcome this problem, it is not to find who is more popular.

"We need to face this crisis together," he said in a series of posts on Twitter.

He also expressed appreciation to those fighting to Covid-19 pandemic.

“We must not only thank the front liners, but we must also show our support and pay attention by heeding the advice given by those who are experts in this field,” he added.

As of noon today, a total of 4,683 positive cases were reported in the country, with 76 fatalities.
