Recovered patients continue to exceed new cases, one new death

CORONAVIRUS | This is the fourth consecutive day in which the number of discharged Covid-19 patients exceeded the number of new cases detected.

According to Health Ministry director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah, 119 patients were discharged as of noon over a 24-hour period.

This means that 2,766 Covid-19 patients or 53.4 percent of the total number of patients had recovered.

There were 110 new Covid-19 cases during the same time period, bringing the total to 5,182.

Currently, 56 Covid-19 patients are under the intensive care of which 29 require ventilators.

There was also one death attributed to the virus over the past 24-hours. Details are as follows:

Patient 4,711

Malaysian male, 66, with other medical complications. He was warded at Hospital Kuala Lumpur and passed away at 12.55pm yesterday.

In total, there have been 84 deaths due to Covid-19 in Malaysia so far.

This figure formed 1.62 percent of the total number of Covid-19 cases.
