Covid-19 alert for visitors of Taman Megah, PJ Old Town wet markets
CORONAVIRUS | Members of the public who visited the Taman Megah wet market in Petaling Jaya between April 11 and 25 are urged to fill up a Covid-19 screening online form.
In an announcement on Selangor Menteri Besar Amirudin Shari's Facebook page, it is said that those deemed at risk of contracting the virus would be contacted by the District Health Office immediately to arrange for their samples to be taken for testing.
"The public who had gone to the Taman Megah SS24 market between 11 April 2020 – 25 April 2020 are requested to fill in the Covid-19 contact screening questionnaire using the link provided below (use URL or QR code).
"Those who are at risk will be contacted by the District Health Officer to undergo health examination and sampling at the nearest health clinic."
The online form can be found here.
Meanwhile, Bukit Gasing assemblyperson Rajiv Rishyakaran also urged those who visited the Pasar Besar Jalan Othman, otherwise known as the PJ Old Town wet market, between April 5 to 18 to also fill up an online form.
"Klinik Kesihatan Taman Medan will assess all the people who fill up this form and will call in those deemed to be high risk to get tested. Most of you will not get called in. I don't agree with mass testing.
"If you're not called in for government Covid-19 testing, but you are worried and would still like to get tested, you can do so at any private facility," said Rajiv.
The online form for those who have visited the PJ Old Town market during the said period can be found here.
It was reported the authorities had ordered for the two markets to be closed temporarily after two traders were tested positive with Covid-19.
