CORONAVIRUS | Today marked the third day in a row where no new deaths attributed to Covid-19 infections were reported by the Health Ministry.

The number of Covid-19 patients in intensive care also continued to trend downwards, with only 18 patients of which seven require a ventilator.

Meanwhile, Health Ministry director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said there were 68 new cases recorded in the 24-hour period ending noon today.

Of these new cases, 57 involved foreigners. Of infections involving Malaysians, three cases involved people returning from the UK and one from the US.

Currently, there are 1,564 active cases.

Noor Hisham also announced that 88 Covid-19 patients were discharged in the same period.

This brought the total number of discharges to 4,864 or 74.5 percent of the total number of Covid-19 cases.

Meanwhile, Noor Hisham revealed that the cluster involving a factory in Pedas, Negeri Sembilan has so far recorded 60 positive cases.

However, 440 out of 786 test results have yet to be provided.

Out of the 60 cases in this cluster, only seven patients are Malaysians.
