Five more districts free of Covid-19, Hulu Langat goes from red to yellow
CORONAVIRUS | Five districts have been declared free of Covid-19 as the last of their recorded active Covid-19 patients recover.
They are Kuala Nerus and Setiu in Terengganu, Simunjan in Sarawak, Beaufort in Sabah and Sabak Bernam in Selangor.
Their recovery brings the total number of green zones to 118, up from 113 a day earlier.
The data, released by the Health Ministry, is updated until noon yesterday.
Areas that are free of Covid-19 are referred to as green zones while districts that have up to 40 Covid-19 cases are labelled as yellow zones. Red zones are areas that have more than 40 Covid-19 cases.
Meanwhile, Hulu Langat in Selangor, which previously saw an enhanced movement control order (MCO) declared in parts of the district, saw improvement as it moved from a red zone to a yellow zone.
The number of active cases there fell from 55 to 33.
This means there are now 10 red zones, down by one a day earlier. There are also 73 yellow zones, down by five a day earlier.
As of noon yesterday, the country recorded 6,589 Covid-19 cases with 108 deaths.
However, 74.8 percent of patients, or 4,929, have recovered. Another 1,552 patients are still under treatment.
