Covid-19: 37 new infections, 1 new death

CORONAVIRUS | There were 37 new Covid-19 infections today, bringing the total number of cases to 8,303.
Health Ministry director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said of this figure 8 cases were imported.
Of the local infections, 10 were citizens, and 19 were non-Malaysian citizens.
There were also 25 new recoveries, bringing the total to 6,635, meaning there are now 1,552 active cases in total.
Five people remain in intensive care, none of whom require ventilators.
One new death was reported, bringing the death toll to 117.
The latest casualty was Patient 2,296, a 79-year-old Malaysian woman who had close contact with Patient 1,508.
She started showing symptoms on March 18 and was warded on March 26 after testing positive. She died at 2pm yesterday.
Noor Hisham said six of the new cases were from the Kuala Lumpur construction site cluster, Pedas (4), Kuala Lumpur cleaning company (3), Pudu (1), Kampung Sungai Lui (1).
For the Bukit Jalil immigration depots, only two more test results were pending.
