Covid-19: One death, 3 new cases among locals
CORONAVIRUS | Malaysia recorded 33 new cases of Covid-19 over the 24-hour period ending noon today and one death.
The victim, 85, is a Malaysian female who was found dead at her home yesterday.
She was brought to the Keningau Hospital in Sabah where she was tested positive for Covid-19.
According to Health Ministry director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah, of the 33 new cases, 16 involved Malaysians returning from abroad and 14 involved foreigners.
Of the three local transmissions among Malaysians, one case was recorded in Kuala Lumpur and another was linked to the Selangor tahfiz cluster.
The remaining case involved an individual who had close contact with the person who was found dead yesterday.
Currently, the Covid-19 death toll in Malaysia stood at 119.
The total number of patients discharged over the same 24-hour period stood at 7,168 (85.3 percent recovery rate).
There are currently 1,115 individuals being treated of which five require intensive care and none require ventilator support.
