YOURSAY | 'PKR should sack traitors before they quit the party…'

'Selangor deputy speaker quits PKR'

Kita Orangbiasa: Former Selangor deputy speaker Daroyah Alwi (above), you can state all your reasons for quitting PKR.

But 17,867 people voted for you in GE14 as you were contesting under the PKR banner in the Sementa constituency. You have betrayed them. You must step down from your state seat.

Daylight: Daroyah, resign from PKR if you must but your reasons for doing so are cheap, nonsensical, self-serving and most of all, laughable. Have some dignity and honesty.

Why not just say, “I resign because I am a supporter of Azmin and I see a better future for myself with him in Perikatan Nasional.” This way, you will at least gain some respect, even if people don’t agree with you.

Ferdtan: Hip hip hooray to PKR. They finally got rid of another worm in the party.

Daroyah’s post of deputy speaker is very important to the Selangor state government because when it is her turn to officiate the state assembly, she will have a huge amount of power.

GoldenOtter9915: It is time for the PKR leadership to invite all those who think their allegiance is to former PKR deputy president Mohamed Azmin Ali or that they want to be Perikatan Nasional (PN)-friendly to leave the party now.

There is no point in having members who are not at all committed to the ‘reformasi’ agenda.

XoXo: PKR should boldly take the first-mover advantage to sack traitors like this before they quit the party at a time of their own choosing.

It does not do any good for the morale of the party. The party leadership knows who these traitors are. There is no reason why they shouldn’t know; even the voters and supporters of Harapan know who they are.

PKR, please do yourselves a favour: sack Selangor Menteri Besar Amirudin Shari. Get it over and done with.

Mano: Do you realise Daroyah is trying to quit in style by mentioning her membership number and positions?

These would-be traitors have planned staggered resignations to keep up their momentum and break the spirit of PKR.

They could have left together with Azmin, Segamat MP Santhara Kumar, former Penang state executive councillor Afif Bahardin, etc.

It is time for PKR president Anwar Ibrahim to sack those we know are definitely Azmin supporters. Yes, the first to go should be the Selangor MB.

Anonymous54: I am not anti-Anwar or anti-PKR. At the way things are going in PKR, I humbly suggest for Anwar to focus on cleaning house rather than coveting the prime minister position.

Let former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad do his work; he's more likely to succeed. Anwar can take over when he's done cleaning up PKR that I opine is in disarray right now.

VP Biden: @Anonymous54, what do you think is happening now? Does PKR have to take out a full-page ad to show what it is doing? Do political parties do that - share its internal strategy with the public? Get real.

YellowPanther2329: Why is Anwar still keeping Amirudin as Selangor MB? Does he never learn his lesson and still keeps traitors in his camp? Sack these traitors now.

If you had sacked Azmin earlier, Harapan would still be in power. Don’t disappoint the rakyat who have supported you. It’s time for you to wake up and be a real leader.

PurpleKijang9104: Indeed, Amirudin should be closely watched. PKR should ditch him in the next election.

He is a dangerous man who supported Azmin and he even sat down with Health Minister Adham Baba the other day to discuss something.

It could be Azmin’s move to influence him. But for now, the MB dares not show his allegiance to Azmin because the majority in Selangor supports Harapan.

Keyboard Warrior: And Anwar is Harapan’s great big hope - a man who's only struggle and purpose is to be PM?

Most who were with him at the onset of 'reformasi', as well as founders of Keadilan, have all but abandoned him.

There is no quick way for Harapan to return to power. A new generation of leaders must be developed or nurtured.

Vladivostokian: Everyone is jumping onto the PN bandwagon because they’re driven by PN (‘periuk nasi’ or rice bowl).

Before GE14, these politicians were all fired up to kick out the kleptocratic government of Najib Abdul Razak and the people supported them wholeheartedly.

After the Harapan government collapsed due to Mahathir’s missteps, these opportunistic politicians lost all their moral principles. Useless politicians. I won’t bother going to the polling booth after this.

Saddened Malaysian: All of them are unethical traitors. All Selangorians must remember them and not vote for them in the future.

I am tired of these politicians who have zero ethics and jump from one party to another. Party hopping should be disallowed.

I am fed up that nobody cares about what the people are saying. Can I choose not to pay my taxes, and not contribute to the nation? Because I certainly don’t want my hard-earned money going to unethical folks. I hope all these traitors read this.

If you have lost trust in your party leadership then change your leadership, not leave and give an image of how ‘saintly’ and ‘amazing’ you are and that you are ‘genuine’.

I am so angry with the country and the politicians; they are running my beloved Malaysia to the ground.
