KINI ROUNDUP | Here are key headlines you may have missed, in brief.

1. Five out of the 12 component parties in the Perikatan Nasional (PN) government will formally join the PN coalition, which plans to contest under one banner in the next general election.

2. Former Penang chief minister Lim Guan Eng decried the PN government's decision to cancel the Penang International Airport and Penang Hill Cable Car projects, calling it "vengeance politics".

3. The prime minister’s special advisor on public health Dr Jemilah Mahmood said enforcement against quarantine defiers is done by the police and not by the Health Ministry, amid complaints of double standards after Plantation Industries and Commodities Minister Mohd Khairuddin Aman Razali was only fined RM1,000 for skipping compulsory quarantine.

4. A petition demanding Khairuddin resigns garnered more than 30,000 signatories.

5. Bersatu is mulling to appoint Gombak MP Azmin Ali as its vice-president.

The appointment will be discussed soon at an EGM, says Ahmad Faizal Azumu.

6. PAS deputy president Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man defended Khairuddin, who is a party colleague, stating that what mattered was that Khairuddin did not cause a Covid-19 cluster.
