Sabah declares public holiday for polling tomorrow
SABAH POLLS | The Sabah government has declared tomorrow (Sept 26) as a special public holiday to enable the people to go out and vote in the 16th state election.
Caretaker chief minister Shafie Apdal, in a statement today, said the declaration was in accordance with Section 9 of the Sabah Holidays Ordinance (Sabah Chapter 56).
The public is reminded to comply with the standard operating procedures for election conduct set by the Election Commission.

A total of 447 candidates including 56 independents are contesting for 73 state seats, including 13 new ones.
A total of 1,088,711 of the 1,103,646 normal voters are eligible to cast their ballots tomorrow, as 14,935 people had voted by post.
