Covid-19 (Oct 25): 823 new cases and 8 deaths
COVID-19 | Malaysia today recorded 823 new Covid-19 cases, a slight respite from the four-digit record from yesterday.
This brings the cumulative cases to date to 26,565.
Leading indicators in brief:
- Active cases = 9,202 ↑ (19th straight day a new record set)
- Patients in intensive care = 99 ↑ (seven more than previous day)
- Intubated patients = 30 ↓ (one less than previous day)
- Deaths = 8
On the flip side, another 579 Covid-19 patients have recovered, bringing the total recoveries to 17,134.
The eight deaths, all of which are Malaysians, are as follow:
Patient 12,863 (Death 222): 77-year-old male. Died at Hospital Duchess of Kent, Sandakan.
Patient 15,329 (Death 223): 59-year-old male. Died at Hospital Queen Elizabeth, Kota Kinabalu.
Patient 14,023 (Death 224): 70-year-old female. Died at Hospital Lahad Datu. Had a history of diabetes.
Patient 22,032 (Death 225): 58-year-old male. Died at Hospital Queen Elizabeth, Kota Kinabalu. Had a history of diabetes, high blood pressure and dyslipidemia.
Patient 24,224 (Death 226): 34-year-old male. Died at Hospital Tawau. Suffers from obesity and obstructive sleep apnea.
Patient 26,273 (Death 227): 74-year-old female. Died at Hospital Tawau. Had a history of high blood pressure and tuberculosis.
Patient 26,274 (Death 228): 68-year-old male. Died at Hospital Duchess of Kent. Had a history of high blood pressure, dyslipidemia and gout.
Patient 26,275 (Death 229): 80-year-old female. Died at Hospital Duchess of Kent.
All 823 new cases today were locally transmitted. The breakdown is as follows:

Nine new clusters
A total of nine new clusters were reported today, four of which are in Sabah.
They are the Titir cluster in Keningau, Omadal cluster in Semporna, Bandaran cluster in Kota Kinabalu and Jambul cluster in Sandakan.
The remaining five clusters are in Penang, Selangor, Negeri Sembilan, Sarawak, Johor and Terengganu.
The Bayan cluster involves the districts of Seberang Perai Utara, Barat Daya and Timur Laut in Penang with a total of six cases to date.
The Mentari cluster involves the districts of Petaling, Klang and Gombak in Selangor with a total of 17 cases to date.
The Jernih cluster involves the district of Seremban in Negeri Sembilan with a total of 15 cases to date.
The Seladah cluster involves the districts of Kuching and Serian in Sarawak with a total of seven cases to date.
The Makekar cluster involves the districts of Johor Bahru and Kulai in Johor, the district of Klang in Selangor as well as the districts of Kemaman, Dungun, Kuala Terengganu and Marang in Terengganu. There are a total of 10 cases in this cluster.
