OFFICES

- EPF, Klang

The Employees Provident Fund (EPF) will close its Klang branch offices and counters for one day today (Nov 10) to carry out disinfection and sanitation work.

The move was taken after one of the staff at the branch tested positive for Covid-19 and the staff is currently undergoing treatment.

Members who have an appointment with the EPF Klang scheduled for today are asked to enter the online appointment facility to reschedule their visit.

The branch will reopen tomorrow.


BUSINESSES

- Maybank Seberang Jaya

The bank said a staff member had come into contact with a person who was positive with Covid-19. As such, the bank will close for disinfection from Nov 9 until further notice.

The bank also clarified that the contact happened outside of the premises.

- Ekkamai Thai Restaurant, Plaza Batai, Damansara Heights, KL

The management said in a notice dated Nov 9 that the restaurant has recorded one positive test for Covid-19.

They will be closed until further notice and all staff are being tested and under quarantine.

The restaurant has provided its MySejahtera details to the Health Ministry and those who have dined there in the past 1-2 weeks will be contacted accordingly. 

- Alamanda Shopping Centre, Putrajaya

The management said five-night shift cleaners were found positive on Oct 31 during a proactive swab test on a group of cleaners for Alamanda.

The five cleaners were hospitalised immediately and have since been discharged from the hospital on Nov 10.

The management also said that this particular group of cleaners have had no direct interaction with other workers.

Thorough sanitisation has been done at Alamanda and its surrounding areas. The Health Ministry has also advised the management that business operations can continue as usual.

- Jaya One, Petaling Jaya, Selangor

Jaya One's management announced today that an office worker at Level 5, Block J, 129 Offices has tested positive for Covid-19 on Nov 8 after contracting the disease from her parents. Thus far, five of her colleagues have tested negative, while another nine are pending results.

She also visited her colleague's residence at Block R1 of the attached condominium on Oct 28 and Nov 2. Two of her colleagues live at this block. Their housemates have also been screened.

The management said it has closed off the affected unit immediately upon receiving the news on Nov 8 and sanitised common areas within 129 Offices.

- Maybank Malacca main branch and Alor Gajah branch

Employees at the Private Wealth Centre at the bank's main branch in Malacca and at the Alor Gajah branch respectively have come in contact with a person under investigation (PUI) for Covid-19 infection.

As such, the two branches and the centre are closed until further notice for disinfection.


EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS

- Universiti Sultan Azlan Shah (USAS), Kuala Kangsar

The university will be closed for six days starting today for disinfection works due to a confirmed Covid-19 case involving someone on the campus.

The university will reopen on Nov 16.


PORTS

- Northport, Westport and Port Klang Free Zone, Selangor

Several employees of service contractors at Port Klang have tested positive for Covid-19.

As such, the Port Klang Authority (PKA) has instructed all affected companies to conduct Covid-19 tests on all employees and disinfect workers' quarters located outside the port area.

The Northport, Westport and Port Klang Free Zone areas which may have been exposed to the virus are being disinfected while staff from affected companies are barred from entry pending the outcome of their tests.

PKA said measures are being taken to ensure no disruption of goods and commerce. 


GOVERNMENT PREMISES

- Segamat District Police Headquarters, Johor

Bernama reported that a murder suspect detained at the district police headquarters has tested positive for Covid-19.

Johor police chief Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay said the Segamat IPD has been sanitised and operates normally, but 60 police officers and personnel were identified as close contacts and would have to undergo testing and self-quarantine.
