Covid-19 (Dec 13): 1,229 new cases, five states recorded more than 100
COVID-19 | The Health Ministry today reported 1,229 new Covid-19 cases with the bulk of them coming from Selangor and Sabah.
Kuala Lumpur, Johor, and Perak also recorded more than 100 new cases today.
On the flip side, the 1,309 recoveries exceeded new infections today, bringing the total active cases down.
Leading indicators:
- Active cases: 13,667 ↓ (84 less than the previous day)
- Patients in ICU: 115 ↓ (6 less than the previous day)
- Intubated patients: 65 ↓ (1 less than the previous day)
- Deaths: 4 ↓ (5 less than the previous day)
The four fatalities put the death toll at 415. Details about the latest deaths are as follows:
Patient 60,731 (Death 412): 83-year-old Malaysian woman. Died at Hospital Raja Perempuan Zainab II, Kota Bharu, Kelantan. Had a history of diabetes, high blood pressure and chronic kidney disease.
Patient 67,006 (Death 413): 60-year-old Malaysian man. Died at Hospital Tuanku Ja'afar, Seremban, Negeri Sembilan. A disabled person with a history of diabetes, cataract and chronic kidney disease.
Patient 74,970 (Death 414): 44-year-old Malaysian woman. Died at Sungai Buloh Hospital, Selangor. Had a history of diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, obesity and chronic kidney disease.
Patient 55,965 (Death 415): A 29-year-old non citizen. Died at Sungai Buloh Hospital, Selangor. No reported pre-existing conditions.

There were no new reported cases in Kelantan, Putrajaya and Sarawak today.
Perlis ended its eight-day streak of not having any Covid-19 cases.
Health Ministry director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah, in a statement, said four clusters have been declared over.
They are the Wisma Saberkas cluster in Sarawak, Sauh cluster and Basung cluster in Sarawak and Auto cluster in Selangor.
However, Noor Hisham also announced the emergence of six new clusters.
They are the Hujung Pasirt cluster in Labuan, Lestari cluster in Selangor and Kuala Lumpur, Desa Idaman cluster in Johor, Rimbun construction site cluster in Negeri Sembilan, Tanjung Suria cluster in Selangor and Kuala cluster in Pahang.
The Hujung Pasir cluster in Labuan was detected after Patient 82,138 tested positive for Covid-19 on Dec 12 through a screening of symptomatic individuals. A total of 143 people have been screened and five have Covid-19.
The Lestari cluster involves the districts of Petaling, Hulu Langat, Klang and Sepang in Selangor and Lembah Pantai in Kuala Lumpur.
The index case is Patient 73,963 who tested positive for Covid-19 on Dec 8 through a screening of symptomatic individuals. To date, 351 people were tested and 31 have the virus.
The Desa Idaman cluster involves the district of Kulai in Johor. The index case is Patient 78,315, a severe acute respiratory infection case who tested positive for Covid-19 on Dec 10.
To date, 52 people have been screened and eight have Covid-19.
The Rimbun construction site cluster involves the district of Seremban in Negeri Sembilan. The initial cases were first reported on Dec 10 through targeted workplace screenings.
Since then, 206 people have been tested and 16 people have the virus.
The Tanjung Suria cluster involves the districts of Sepang, Gombak, Kuala Selangor and Hulu Selangor in Selangor.
The initial cases were detected on Dec 7 through targeted workplace screenings at two factories.
A total of 8,480 people were screened and 31 turned up positive with the virus.
The Kuala cluster involves the district of Kuantan in Pahang. The index case is patient 78,483 who was detected with the virus on Dec 10 through a screening of symptomatic individuals.
To date, 26 people have been screened and all of them have the virus.
