MARKETS

- Sibu Central Market, Sarawak

An individual who tested positive for Covid-19 visited this market on Jan 18, at 8.29-9am, the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee said.

- Pandan Wholesale Market, Johor Bahru, Johor

The Pandan Wholesale Market is closed for sanitation until Jan 31, after several Covid-19 cases were detected at the market.

Traders were informed of the cases through a notice, sighted by Malaysiakini, on Jan 23, while the closure was announced by the Johor Health Department yesterday. 

The Johor Bahru Fish Wholesalers Association chairperson Tai Wah Sun said owners, fishmongers and greengrocers, including workers and lorry drivers at the Pandan wholesale market have undergone health screenings, Bernama reported.

- Nam Leong Department Store, Kanowit, Sarawak

A customer who visited on Jan 19, at 9.49-10.20am, tested positive for Covid-19, the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee said.

- De Luxe Circle Fresh Mart, Taman Tan Sri Yaacob, Johor Bahru, Johor

The shop management said in a notice on Facebook that a staff member from an unnamed sister company in the same area tested positive for Covid-19.

The staff did not have any close contact with De Luxe Circle Fresh Mart, but for precaution, the store will close on Jan 23 for sanitisation and will reopen the next day.

- Manjaku Baby Mall Sri Gombak, Batu Caves, Selangor

The management said on Facebook that six staff members from their branch in Sri Gombak tested positive for Covid-19 from a close contact outside the mall.

The staff last reported for work on Jan 22, while close contacts have been quarantined.

The store will be closed temporarily from Jan 24 for sanitisation.

- IKEA Cheras, KL

IKEA Cheras has announced confirmed Covid-19 positive cases involving its security guards.

"Their last working days were 23 Jan 2021. All security guards are now in self-quarantine until further notice from the authorities."

"We are taking precautionary measures to close our Cheras store on

Jan 25 to undergo the necessary sanitisation and full contact tracing in accordance with the Ministry of Health’s (MOH) standards," it said.

Co-workers who were in close contact have already been placed on home quarantine and undergoing Covid-19 swab tests.

- Public Bank Jalan Apas, Tawau, Sabah

The bank announced on Jan 22 that an employee from its branch at Jalan Apas had tested positive for Covid-19.

The employee last reported to work on Jan 19. Close contacts to the employee were also placed on home quarantine.

The branch will be closed temporarily from Jan 25. Sanitisation and disinfection have been carried out at the bank.


OFFICES

- Q Sentral, KL Sentral, Kuala Lumpur

An occupant of Level 33 tested positive for Covid-19 and was last at the building on Jan 18, the management said in a notice to tenants.

Sanitisation will take place within 24 hours, it said.

- Damansara Intan business park, Petaling Jaya, Selangor

A Covid-19 case was detected at Lobby 7 on Jan 21, the management said in an email to owners and tenants last weekend.

The infected person is under quarantine while common areas and lifts have been disinfected, it said in the email sighted by Malaysiakini.

- EPF, Jalan Raja Laut, KL

The EPF building in Raja Laut has been closed until further notice.

It announced in a notice that was closed from today (Jan 25) under the instruction of the Health Ministry.

All scheduled appointments have therefore been cancelled, said the notice.


EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS 

- Real Kids Preschool, Puchong Jaya, Selangor

Real Education Group chief executive officer Dr Goh Chee Leong said a teacher from their Puchong Jaya centre tested positive for Covid-19 on Jan 23. The teacher was last at the school on Jan 20.

All teachers and students who had close contact with the patient were advised to quarantine. Real Kids also arranged and bore the cost for them to undergo swab tests.

All their test results came back negative, said Goh in a statement today. Meanwhile, the centre will be closed for sanitisation until Feb 8.

Goh also assured that they are working in partnership with Columbia Asia Hospital to ensure strict protocol adherence at their centres.


MEDICAL FACILITIES

- Sultan Ismail Petra Hospital, Kuala Krai, Kelantan

A total of 18 cases have been detected here so far, in a cluster involving cleaners at this hospital, the Health Ministry said.

The cluster is known as Kampung Mahi, after the location of the hospital.

The index case was detected through screening of a symptomatic individual.

- Malacca Hospital, Malacca

A total of 38 cases were detected at this hospital involving healthcare workers and patients, the Health Ministry said.

The cluster called Bukit Palah after the location of the hospital was detected today through close contact screening. 


GOVERNMENT BUILDINGS

- Taiping Prison, Perak

The Taiping Prison and its staff quarters will be placed under the enhanced movement control order (EMCO) from tomorrow (Jan 26) until Feb 8, said Defence Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob.


FACTORIES

- Zedtee Plywood Tatau, Bintulu, Sarawak

An employee tested positive for Covid-19 here on Jan 23, the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee said.

The employee resides in the workers' quarters.


RESIDENCES

- Leafz Residence, Sungai Besi, Kuala Lumpur

Covid-19 cases were detected at Block A and Levels 20 and 22 of Block C, the management said in two notices to residents today.

- Kampung Tualang, Kuala Terengganu, Terengganu

A resident of this village tested positive for Covid-19 yesterday, the Health Ministry said.

A total of 96 close contacts have been tested and 32 individuals tested positive, making up the Kampung Tualang cluster.

- Taman Bahagia, Temerloh, Pahang

A resident here tested positive for Covid-19 on Jan 20, the Health Ministry said.

This person is the index case for the Taman Bahagia cluster, involving those who assisted in the flood relief effort in Temerloh.

- Kampung Bukit Lada, Temerloh

A resident here tested positive for Covid-19 on Jan 11. Since then, 14 close contacts have tested positive for the virus, the Health Ministry said. 

- Pantai Hillpark Phase 5, Jalan Pantai Dalam, Kuala Lumpur

The management said in a notice to residents sighted by Malaysiakini that one resident from Block 5 had tested positive for Covid-19 on Jan 25.

Sanitisation will be carried out at Block 5 common areas on Jan 26.

- Dorchester Apartment, Plaza Damas, Sri Hartamas, Kuala Lumpur

The management said in a notice to residents sighted by Malaysiakini that two residents from Level 10 tested positive for Covid-19.

All common areas will be sanitised.

- Seri Maya, Jalan Jelatek, Kuala Lumpur

A resident of Block M tested positive for Covid-19, the management said in a notice to residents.

Disinfection has been done today.

There have been about a dozen cases reported at this condominium complex this month.

- Dataran Prima Condominium, Petaling Jaya, Selangor

The management said in a notice to residents sighted by Malaysiakini that a second Covid-19 case was detected in the condominium, from Block B.

A family member of the second case is currently waiting for test results.

In the meantime, the management has sanitised affected areas. 

- Kenanga Point Condominium, Jalan Gelugor, Kuala Lumpur

The management said in a notice to residents, sighted by Malaysiakini, that a resident from Block A Level 8 had tested positive for Covid-19.

The resident was taken away by the Health Ministry on Jan 22, it said.

In another notice dated Jan 25, the management said two more cases had been detected from the same unit. One of them was picked up by the Health Ministry on Jan 23 while the other is still awaiting further instructions. 

Immediate steps were taken to disinfect all possible contaminated areas, the management assured.

- The Troika, Persiaran KLCC, Kuala Lumpur

The management said to residents, in a notice sighted by Malaysiakini, that a management office personnel had tested positive for Covid-19 on Jan 20.

As such, the management office will be closed from Jan 22 and resume operations on Jan 25.

The affected floor and all common areas have been sanitised and disinfected.
