Shooting of RTM cameraman - court dismisses security firm's appeal

The Court of Appeal today dismissed an appeal by GMP Kaisar Security Sdn Bhd (GMP) to quash an order to pay RM114,470 in damages and costs to Radio Televisyen Malaysia part-time camera person Mohamad Amirul Amin Mohamed Amer.
Amirul, who was shot by a rogue bodyguard along Tun Dr Lim Chong Eu Expressway on Dec 1, 2016, was one of eight people shot by GMP employee Ja’afar Halid.
A panel of three - Court of Appeal Judges Lau Bee Lan, Abu Bakar Jais and Gunalan Muniandy - presided over the case.
