BUSINESSES
- Jaya Grocer, The Gardens Mall, Kuala Lumpur
The grocer announced last night that a staff member at the outlet had tested positive for Covid-19.
The staff was last at the outlet on Wednesday.
The outlet will be closed until further notice, and all its staff tested.
GOVERNMENT BUILDINGS
- IPD Kuantan, Pahang
The district police headquarters has sent 37 officers into quarantine after coming into close contact with another officer who tested positive for Covid-19.
Pahang Media reported that the case was detected after a wife of an officer tested positive for the virus.
EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS
- SMK Bukit Besar, Kuala Terengganu
The school has been closed for 14 days after a teacher and student tested positive for Covid-19, Bernama reported yesterday.
Sanitisation works will be carried out.
- Schools in Sandakan, Sabah
Four secondary schools in Sandakan were ordered to close after several students and teachers tested positive for Covid-19.
The four schools are SM St Mary, SMK Elopura, SMK Batu Sapi and SMK Perempuan.
A total of four teachers and 10 students from these schools were found to have contracted Covid-19 between Jan 20 to 26.
SPORTS AND RECREATIONAL FACILITIES
- Royal Lake Club Kuala Lumpur
The management said in a notice to club members, sighted by Malaysiakini, that a security personnel at the club had tested positive for Covid-19 on Jan 29.
The staff member was working at the guardhouse from 8am to 8pm on Jan 22 to Jan 27, 2021.
As such, the club will be closed on Jan 30 until Feb 1 for thorough sanitisation and staff screening.
The club will open on Feb 2.
RESIDENCES
- Kampung Syahbandar & Kampung Padas Damit, Beaufort, Sabah
Those from Kampung Padas Damit and the surrounding areas who attended a tahlil kenduri event at Kampung Syahbandar between Jan 9 to 15 were urged to come forward for Covid-19 screening.
They were asked to go to the Beaufort Youth and Sports Ministry centre, next to the Beaufort district health office between Monday to Friday from 9am to 12pm or 3pm to 4pm, according to a notice released by the state health department.
OTHERS
- Various locations in Kuching, Bau, Serian, Meradong, Sibu, Bintulu, and Miri
The Sarawak Disaster Management Committee yesterday added more than 50 locations where those infected with Covid-19 had visited in the past 14 days, and the time they visited.
