BUSINESSES

- Various businesses in Sarawak

According to the Sarawak Disaster Management committee, individuals who tested positive for Covid-19 visited these business premises

- The Store, Jalan Pandan, Johor Bahru, Johor

A shopping centre on Jalan Pandan was ordered close from Feb 20 to Feb 26 for disinfection after Covid-19 cases were detected there, China Press reported.

The daily did not name the mall, but the photograph it published shows it is The Store.

- Village Grocer, Subang Parade, Selangor

A promotional employee for a supplier for the fruit and vegetable department at this outlet tested positive for Covid-19, the supermarket said.

The person was last at the outlet today.

The outlet has been closed starting 7pm today for disinfection and all staff in contact with the employee to undergo Covid-19 screening.

This is the third case reported at this supermarket this month. The first involving a staff member of the fruits and vegetable department who was last at work on Feb 7, and the second involving an online picker team member who tested positive on Feb 17. 


RESIDENCES

- Dataran Prima Condominium, Petaling Jaya, Selangor

A resident of Block A tested positive for Covid-19 on Feb 22, the management said in a notice to residents today.

It said this is the fifth case reported at this condominium complex, but the latest infection is unrelated to earlier cases.

The management added it is disinfecting possibly contaminated areas.

- Flat Taman Bidara, Selayang, Kuala Lumpur

A total of 10 residents from four units here tested positive for Covid-19 in the past week, China Press reported.

Local councillor U Chin Ong has arranged for disinfection of relevant areas in the complex, the daily reported.

- Taman Megah, Kepong, Kuala Lumpur

Nine residents tested positive for Covid-19, China Press reported.

The infected residents were asymptomatic and did not know they were infected when they visited a hawker stall at the building, leading to three more infections involving the hawker's family members.

The building has been disinfected by DAP's action team, it reported.

The Penang Health Department releases a daily list of localities where Covid-19 cases were detected. Below is the latest list:

Covid-19 cases were detected at the following localities yesterday, the Batu Pahat Health Office said.

- Taman Renggam Jaya and Felda Ulu Pengeli, Kluang, Johor

Two residents at these localities tested positive for Covid-19, the Kluang Health Office said.

- Various localities in Kota Tinggi

According to the Kota Tinggi Health Office, two Covid-19 cases were detected at Taman Pasak Indah there yesterday, while the following localities recorded a case each:

The village has been placed under enhanced movement control order (EMCO) from tomorrow until March 8, after 60 cases were detected there so far, Senior Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob said.

According to the Sarawak government, the cluster is traced to the funeral of the wife of the index case.

Senior Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob said the village has been placed under enhanced MCO from tomorrow until March 8, after 57 out of 226 individuals tested so far were found to be Covid-19 positive.

- Apartment and Town Villa, Sibu Jaya, Sarawak

This residential area is placed under enhanced movement control order from Feb 26 until Mar 4 due to a rise in cases here, Sarawak deputy chief minister Douglas Uggah said. 


GOVERNMENT BUILDINGS

- Dewan Bandaraya Kuching Utara, Sarawak

A staff member here tested positive for Covid-19, the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee said.

The person was last at work on Feb 18, it said.

- Sungai Meru Police Station, Sibu, Sarawak

A total of 96 senior police officers, lower-ranking personnel and four civilian staff members at Sungai Merah police station underwent Covid-19 swab tests yesterday.

Also tested were two drug case suspects being detained at the station.

Similar tests were conducted on traffic police officers at the station last week after two of them were found positive for Covid-19. Following this, the Health Ministry sanitised the station, Sibu police chief Stanley Jonathan Ringgit said.


MARKETS

- Pasar Ikan Sebiew, Bintulu, Sarawak

A customer who later tested positive for Covid-19 visited this market on Feb 19, from 2.46pm to 3.30pm, the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee said.

- Pasar Besar Kota Belud, Sabah

Visitors who entered and ate at the Pasar Besar Kota Belud from Feb 8 to Feb 15, or who were in the vicinity of food stalls and vegetable sellers and have subsequently displayed Covid-19 symptoms are being requested to contact the Kota Belud District Health Department from 9am to 3pm today at 011-23456840.

- Selangor Wholesale Market, Seri Kembangan, Selangor

A cluster of cases have been detected among workers of a shop located in the wholesale market area, the Health Ministry said.

Up to Feb 22, nine of the 115 individuals screened tested positive for Covid-19, the ministry said.


EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS /OFFICES

- Umno's Institut Latihan Memperkasa Ummah (Ilmu) Resort, Janda Baik, Pahang

An Umno leader who attended the party's supreme council meeting at this location last weekend has been tested positive for Covid-19.

Following this, other participants of the meeting have been identified as close contacts and ordered to take swab tests and undergo quarantine.

Among those affected was Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, who could not attend a court case today due to this.

- SMK Meradong, Sungai Bakong, Sarawak

A student staying at a dormitory here tested positive for Covid-19 on Feb 15, Sarawak deputy chief minister Douglas Uggah said.

Since then a total 21 cases have been detected, making up the Sungai Bakong cluster.

Teachers, staff and boarding students who had contact with those infected are in quarantine, he said.


FACTORIES AND INDUSTRIAL AREAS

- Sunningdale Tech (M) Sdn Bhd, Bandar Tenggara, Johor

According to the Kluang Health Office, Covid-19 cases were detected at this factory.

Close contacts of workers who contracted the virus have also been infected, it said.
