Bukit Mertajam MP Steven Sim expressed sadness that his welfare work had been turned into a racial and religious issue.
This was after Universiti Utara Malaysia senior lecturer Kamarul Zaman Yusoff listed Sim's various charitable work and warned Muslims to be cautious about accepting help from "Christian evangelists".
