Najib's 1MDB trial ends early, his lawyer has money-laundering case tomorrow

Lawyer Muhammad Shafee Abdullah’s RM9.5 million money-laundering case will begin trial tomorrow, three years after the lawyer was first charged with the offence.

As a result, Najib Abdul Razak’s RM2.28 billion 1MDB corruption trial had to be wrapped up earlier, at 2.45pm this afternoon. The former prime minister is represented by Shafee.

Earlier, High Court judge Collin Lawrence Sequerah allowed Shafee’s application for the 1MDB trial to end earlier.
