Umno, PAS leaders push for factories closure as 'total lockdown' drags on
This article is 3 years old
Umno and PAS leaders called on the government to temporarily shut down factories as the number of daily Covid-19 cases remain stubborn, forcing the total lockdown which began on June 1 to be extended.
Umno supreme council member Razlan Rafii pointed out that the majority of Covid-19 clusters are related to the workplace.
"From the first day the government announced the lockdown, the people have lamented about the widespread factory operations which were already predicted to be a hurdle in reducing the number of cases," he said in a statement.
