Rina grilled for hand-feeding blind girl burger, but aide says it was on request

Women, Community and Family Development Minister Rina Harun has received flak from netizens for ignoring Covid-19 prevention protocols after a picture of her hand-feeding a burger to the daughter of drummer Fendy Adlun from local band Caliph Buskers went viral.

However, Rina’s aide responded by saying that the girl requested the minister to do so during her visit to the musician’s house in Sentul, Kuala Lumpur this morning.

When contacted, the aide shared a 15-second video showing Rina trying to hand over a burger to the girl but was told by Fendy, who is blind, that his daughter is also blind and autistic, so she was not able to feed herself.
