This article is 3 years old

COVID-19 | The Health Ministry today reported 8,075 new Covid-19 cases, bringing the cumulative infections to 2,285,640.

The number of fresh infections is the lowest since July 7 when 7,097 cases were recorded.

Health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah released the figures on Twitter.

Sarawak and Kelantan are the two states with more than 1,000 new cases, while Selangor and KL combined now have less than 1,000 new cases.

The fresh infections comprised 7,252 Malaysians (89.8 percent) and 823 non-citizens (10.2 percent).

They were surpassed by a total of 15,456 Covid-19 patients who recovered today. This is expected to help reduce the number of active cases.
