Covid-19 (Nov 25): 6,144 cases, R-naught in 11 states, FTs above 1.00
COVID-19 | The Health Ministry reported 6,144 new Covid-19 cases today, bringing the cumulative infections to 2,608,979.
They were surpassed by a total of 6,602 Covid-19 patients who recovered today. This is expected to help reduce the number of active cases.
The national R-naught had dipped to 0.99 yesterday when cases were at 5,755. This is the first time in nearly two weeks where the number is less than 1.00.
However, there were still 11 states and federal territories with an R-naught higher than 1.00 including Selangor, Sabah, Johor, Malacca, Kuala Lumpur, Labuan, Putrajaya, Negeri Sembilan, Kedah, Pahang and Perak.
An R-naught of more than 1.00 suggests that the spread of Covid-19 was accelerating.
- Patients in ICU: 516

As of today, the number of Covid-19 patients (including suspected ones) in the intensive care unit (ICU) is 4.6 percent lower compared to a week ago.

Nationally, the number of hospital admissions in the last seven days has declined by 2.9 percent compared to the preceding week.
However, hospital admissions in some states are on the rise, particularly in Pahang (+21.8 percent), Penang (+20.0 percent) and Kelantan (+10.9 percent) during the same period.
