Covid-19 (Dec 6): 4,262 cases
COVID-19 | The Health Ministry reported 4,262 new Covid-19 cases today, bringing the cumulative infections to 2,663,034.
They were surpassed by a total of 5,894 Covid-19 patients who recovered today. This is expected to help reduce the number of active cases.
The fresh infections today are the lowest in seven days, since Nov 29.
- Patients in ICU: 463
- Intubated: 249
As of today, the number of Covid-19 patients (including suspected ones) in the intensive care unit (ICU) is 8.7 percent lower compared to a week ago.
Those who require intubation have also declined by 8.5 percent from a week ago.
Nationally, the number of hospital admissions in the last seven days have declined by 5.2 percent compared to the preceding week.
To date, 234 Covid-19 clusters are still active, including five new clusters reported today.
The ongoing clusters have seen an increase of 3.1 percent from the 227 active clusters a week ago.
The Health Ministry will only publish today's breakdown of new clusters and new cases by states after midnight on its CovidNow portal.
The breakdown by states for yesterday (Dec 5), where 4,298 new cases were reported, is as follow:

Noticeably Sarawak's tally was the lowest in 312 days since Jan 28, while Sabah's is the lowest in 144 days - since July 15.
