COVID-19 | The Health Ministry reported 3,140 new Covid-19 cases today, bringing the cumulative infections to 2,724,684.

The fresh infections were surpassed by a total of 4,278 Covid-19 patients who recovered today. This is expected to help reduce the number of active cases.

The number of new Covid-19 cases is on a steady two-month downtrend and the R-number, as of yesterday, is 0.91. There are no states where the R-number is above 1.00.

  • Patients in ICU: 353
  • Intubated: 189

As of today, the number of Covid-19 patients (including suspected ones) in the intensive care unit (ICU) is 7.6 percent lower compared to a week ago.

Those who require intubation have also declined by 6 percent from a week ago.

The number of hospital admission of confirmed Covid-19 patients over the last seven days declined by 18.8 percent compared to the preceding week.

To date, 247 Covid-19 clusters are still active, including four new ones.
