This article is 3 years old

COVID-19 | The Health Ministry reported 3,519 new Covid-19 cases today, bringing the cumulative infections to 2,728,203.

The fresh infections were surpassed by a total of 5,118 Covid-19 patients who recovered today. This is expected to help reduce the number of active cases.

The R-number as of yesterday was 0.90, with only two states (Pahang and Penang) reporting an R-number of 1.00.

As long as it stays below 1.00, it suggests that the spread of Covid-19 was decelerating.

  • Patients in ICU: 331
  • Intubated: 187

As of today, the number of Covid-19 patients (including suspected ones) in the intensive care unit (ICU) is 13.8 percent lower compared to a week ago.

Those who require intubation have also declined by 12.2 percent from a week ago.

Nationally, the number of hospital admissions of confirmed Covid-19 patients in the last seven days have declined by 21.5 percent compared to the preceding week.

To date, 234 Covid-19 clusters are still active, including two new clusters reported today.

The ongoing clusters have fallen by 4.9 percent from the 246 active clusters a week ago.
