This article is 3 years old

COVID-19 | The Health Ministry reported 3,510 new Covid-19 cases today, bringing the cumulative infections to 2,731,713.

The new infections were surpassed by 4,998 Covid-19 patients who recovered today. This is expected to reduce the number of active cases.

The national R-number as of yesterday was at 0.91, while all states and territories are below 1.00.

As long as the number stays below 1.00, it suggests that the spread of Covid-19 is decelerating.

  • Patients in ICU: 329
  • Intubated: 179

As of today, the number of Covid-19 patients, including suspected ones, in the intensive care unit (ICU) is 14.3 percent lower compared to a week ago.

Those who require intubation have also declined by 9.6 percent from a week ago.

Nationally, the number of hospital admissions of confirmed Covid-19 patients in the last seven days has declined by 21.5 percent compared to the preceding week.

To date, 231 Covid-19 clusters are still active, including six new clusters reported today.

The ongoing clusters have fallen by 6.9 percent from the 248 active clusters a week ago.
