As the clock struck the midnight hour, we left, by all accounts, another horrible year and welcomed 2022.

From all of us at Malaysiakini, we wish everyone - our readers especially - a very happy new year.

Over the past 22 years, it has been our privilege and pleasure to share the Malaysian journey and yet another year of building a better tomorrow for our future generations.

May 2022 be the year we see real gains on many fronts, especially in our fight against corruption.

We are working with a skeleton staff today, recharging our batteries before returning to the fray.
