Covid-19 (Feb 27): 24,466 new cases, 40 fatalities
COVID-19 | The Health Ministry said 24,466 new daily Covid-19 cases were reported yesterday, bringing the total cumulative cases to 3,419,636.
Active cases stand at 300,653, up by 78.6 percent compared to 14 days ago.
New cases according to states are as follows:

17 brought in dead
Another 40 deaths attributed to Covid-19 were reported yesterday, of which 17 were declared as 'brought in dead'.
Over the past week, an average of 46.7 people were reported to have died of Covid-19, while the average for the past 30 days was 24.1, indicating that Covid-19 deaths are on the uptrend.
Since the start of the pandemic in March 2020, a total of 32,674 deaths have been attributed to Covid-19.
The state with the highest death tally was Kedah (8) followed by Johor (5), Penang (5), Perak (4), Sabah (4), Kelantan (3), Pahang (3), Malacca (2), Selangor (2), . Kuala Lumpur (2), Negeri Sembilan (1) and Terengganu (1).
There are 7,864 Covid-19 patients who are hospitalised of which 353 are in intensive care.
