Buildings designed after 2017 able to withstand earthquakes - expert

Most of the new government buildings designed after 2017 are ready to withstand earthquakes and prevent them from being damaged or collapsing, says Universiti Teknologi Malaysia’s (UTM) Engineering Seismology and Earthquake Engineering Research group leader Azlan Adnan.

Azlan, who is also a lecturer in the Department of Structure and Materials, School of Civil Engineering, Faculty of Engineering at UTM,  said that older buildings built before that period may face the risk of suffering severe damage from earthquakes...
