No foul play: Cops say detainee died of Covid-19, TB complications

A post-mortem has found no sign of injury or criminal element in the recent death of a detainee at the Indera Mahkota Centralised Lock-up, according to Bukit Aman’s Integrity and Standards Compliance Department (Jips) director Azri Ahmad.

Instead, the pathologist’s preliminary finding was that the detainee died of “acute on chronic lung infection with underlying pulmonary tuberculosis with Covid-19”. The case is classified as sudden death.
