Covid-19 (July 5): 2,932 new cases, active infections at 30k mark
COVID-19 | The Health Ministry reported 2,932 new Covid-19 cases yesterday.
Active infections stood at 30,019, up 11.1 percent compared to 14 days ago.
The number of active cases has been on the uptrend since a recent low of 21,191 on June 7.
New cases according to states are as follows:

Perak (194)
Negeri Sembilan (176)
Sabah (143)
Penang (107)
Kedah (67)
Putrajaya (61)
Johor (57)
Sarawak (54)
Pahang (51)
Malacca (42)
Kelantan (30)
Terengganu (18)
Labuan (16)
Perlis (10)
Another three deaths attributed to Covid-19 were reported yesterday, of which 1 was declared as "brought in dead".
The deaths were reported in Selangor (2) and Pahang (1).
Over the past week, an average of 4.1 people were reported to have died of the coronavirus, while the average for the past 30 days was 3.3, indicating that such deaths are on the uptrend.
Since the start of the pandemic in March 2020, a total of 35,787 deaths have been attributed to the disease.
There are 1,238 Covid-19 patients who are hospitalised of which 42 are in intensive care.
The highest number of admissions yesterday was recorded in Selangor (154) followed by Johor (105) and Sabah (90).
