Covid-19 (July 7): 4,020 new cases, 3 deaths
COVID-19 | The Health Ministry reported 4,020 new daily Covid-19 cases yesterday.
This is the first time new Covid-19 cases have breached the 4,000 mark since April 24.
However, daily hospitalisation of Covid-19 patients, including those in intensive care, remain stable.
Active cases currently stood at 33,839, up 19.8 percent compared to 14 days ago.
New cases according to states are as follows:

Sabah (205)
Negeri Sembilan (197)
Penang (128)
Malacca (107)
Putrajaya (90)
Johor (80)
Pahang (62)
Kedah (60)
Sarawak (57)

Another three deaths attributed to Covid-19 were reported yesterday, of which two were declared as "brought in dead".
These deaths were reported in Johor, Perak and Selangor.
Over the past week, an average of 4.3 people were reported to have died of Covid-19, while the average for the past 30 days was 3.2, indicating that Covid-19 deaths are on the uptrend.
Since the start of the pandemic in March 2020, a total of 35,795 deaths have been attributed to Covid-19.
There are 1,156 Covid-19 patients who are hospitalised of which 45 are in intensive care.
This year, the number of Covid-19 patients in ICU peaked on March 19 (390 cases).
The highest number of admissions yesterday was recorded in Selangor (164) followed by Johor (95) and Sabah (43).
