Covid-19 (July 14): 4,098 new cases, 8 deaths
COVID-19 | The Health Ministry reported 4,098 new daily Covid-19 cases yesterday - the highest since April 23.
Active cases currently stood at 38,913, up 28.8 percent compared to 14 days ago.
New cases according to states are as follows:

Malacca (142)
Kedah (99)

Another eight deaths attributed to Covid-19 were reported yesterday, of which two were declared as "brought in dead".
Deaths were reported in Kedah (3), Johor (1), Perak (1), Sarawak (1), Kuala Lumpur (1) and Putrajaya (1).
Over the past week, an average of 5.9 people were reported to have died of Covid-19, while the average for the past 30 days was 3.9, indicating that Covid-19 deaths are on the uptrend.
Since the start of the pandemic in March 2020, a total of 35,836 deaths have been attributed to Covid-19.
There have been 71 reported Covid-19 deaths this month. For comparison, there were 89 deaths last month and 129 deaths in May.
There are 1,339 Covid-19 patients who are hospitalised of which 53 are in intensive care.
The highest number of admissions yesterday was recorded in Selangor (176) followed by Johor (134) and Sabah (50).
