Zafrul: National debt at RM1.045 trillion as of June

PARLIAMENT | The government’s debt now stands at RM1.045 trillion or 63.8 percent of the gross domestic product (GDP) as of June this year. 

Finance Minister Tengku Zafrul Abdul Aziz in a written response to Karupaiya Mutusami (Pakatan Harapan-Padang Serai) said that RM43.1 billion, or 18.4 percent, of Putrajaya’s estimated total revenue, was allocated for the federal government’s debt service charges for 2022.
