YOURSAY | Is MCA going to build houses out of plastic?

This article is 2 years old

YOURSAY | 'The 50 pct discount should come from money looted by BN leaders.'

S'gor MCA moots 50 pct discount for affordable homes should BN win

Dr Raman Letchumanan: "Selangor MCA would like to suggest that the national price of affordable housing be reduced from RM250,000 to RM125,000, a discount of 50 percent, under the Selangor State Development Corp (PKNS), on condition that Barisan wins back Selangor."

Hello, Selangor MCA chief Ng Chok Sin, you are a disgrace to the Chinese community. The BN government can't even bring down the price of chicken, eggs, cooking oil, etc, even by a few cents. You propose cutting the prices of houses by half!

Are you really concerned about the rakyat or about MCA staying in power? Otherwise, why is this condition - provided if MCA wins? Why don't you tell the states under BN control to halve the prices of houses now as a demonstration of your Einstein-ic proposal?

The last few days I have been cringing from the comedy that was coming out of this Selangor BN convention, like Jamal Md Yunos, who is now the state BN communications chief, and the revelation about the appointment of Selangor BN chief Noh Omar as entrepreneur development and cooperative minister (whom Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob had originally wanted to pick as de facto law minister).

But this takes the cake. The voters are smarter. You certainly lost votes for this chicken-brained proposal.

Thanks for the comedy. I couldn't laugh out loud because it is ‘haram’ (sinful) and could annoy and cause public disharmony.

IndigoTrout2522: This is either nonsense or politics of the highest order or home buyers are currently paying RM125,000 above the actual price.

If this is an honest transaction, how could you give a discount of 50 percent? Do you really make a 50 percent profit margin?

Alternatively, if you implement your suggestion, the state will have to dole out RM125,000 to subsidise each sale. Can you do this on a large scale?

No matter how anyone looks at it, it simply does not make sense. Who will want to lose so much money in a deal, and it does not even cover the cost of materials and labour?

The rakyat cannot be so naive.

Mano: Indeed, how would PKNS (Selangor State Development Corporation) build such affordable homes? Where would the money come from - MCA’s coffers?

Something has to give for such a heavy discount. I think the best idea would be the discount comes from money that was looted by BN leaders.

All rogues who are now seeking salvation to redeem their sins - would they return the money? Indeed, all of them, including those who inherited the loot, should return their ill-gotten gains.

Use the returned money to help first-time home purchasers from the B40 (bottom 40 percent) and the lower tier of M40 (middle 40 percent).

Does MCA have a money tree in their garden producing money? Or as Bersatu Youth chief Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal once said, you can print more money. Is that the idea?

GanMu: All this is pomp and splendour to entice the public. We all know that the current Selangor government is serving its people extremely well. In addition, the state is seen as a cash cow. Hence BN's focus on Selangor.

MCA is part of the federal government and if it is sincere about affordable housing and other issues, it should make its proposal there and ensure that these are implemented nationwide, not just in Selangor.

Merely saying "there will be efforts to improve efforts to benefit entrepreneurs..." does not hold water. They are only efforts - anyone can say that.

Just A Malaysian: MCA, you held the Housing and Local Government minister portfolio for the longest time and yet never used the opportunity to build affordable homes.

In fact, you were happy partying with developers building high-end properties. Now you hope to win Selangor and come out with this bull.

Yes, we believe you. Or at least former minister Zaid Ibrahim would.

OrangeKucing5562: So, MCA is trying to woo voters by reducing the price of affordable homes by 50 percent.

If MCA is willing to pay for the 50 percent, then your proposal will make more sense. So how are you going to do that? Don’t hoodwink the rakyat.

Real Truth: There are 200 or more non-bumi students with sufficient entry requirements for entry into matriculation. These young people deserve a quality education.

Can MCA first help these poor students instead of making empty promises?

PowerRanger: Wow, a discount from RM250,000 to RM125,000, but I wonder whether the size of the house will be reduced from 1,000 sq ft to 500 sq ft.

As we all know, BN says one thing and does another. How can we trust someone who has already been lying to the people all this while?

Lionking: MCA, are you going to make houses out of plastic? Give the specs for this half-price house.

This is very misleading, as we know corruption in BN is very high. This is another big lie to sway the votes. The opposition should give a befitting reply.

MarioT: There is an exhibition of comedy at this Umno Selangor convention, disguised as BN convention.

The rhetoric is comical and promotes more of their attire than any concrete and convincing commitment to show for it.

There is so much arrogance and crazy power talk. MCA tries to get on the bandwagon by its own promise of absurdities. We are amused by these clowns in blue attires. We are not fooled.
