'Crack on Butterworth highway turned into sinkhole due to heavy traffic'

The highway stretch between the North Butterworth Container Terminal (NBCT) and Bagan Ajam toll plaza has been closed for inspection and rectification following cracks discovered on the road along the Butterworth Outer Ring Road (BORR).

Highway operator Lingkaran Luar Butterworth (Penang) Sdn Bhd (LLB) general manager of operations Fadzilah Taib told Malaysiakini that the crack developed into a sinkhole due to heavy traffic after the closure of the affected lane.
