Karak Highway accident causes water cuts in Klang Valley

This article is 2 years old

Some parts of the Klang Valley will experience water supply disruptions for a few hours today.

In a statement, Air Selangor said operations at the Langat 2 water treatment plant had to be temporarily suspended because an accident along the Karak-Bentong Highway at 4.30am had polluted Sungai Semantan.

Water supply disruptions will affect three southeastern districts of the Klang Valley from 10am onwards today.

Air Selangor expects the Langat 2 water treatment plant to resume operations in the afternoon and for water supply to be restored gradually.

The firm said water tankers have been activated and will primarily be supplying critical services.

Its statement did not furnish details on the accident which caused the water disruption.
