Ex- Bar presidents back incumbent for defending judiciary’s independence

Nine former Malaysian Bar presidents have expressed their full support for the current president Karen Cheah for her defence of the independence of the judiciary, which is perceived to be under attack right now.

This comes after former prime minister Najib Abdul Razak’s lawyers indicated that they would sue Cheah over remarks she made about their conduct during Najib’s SRC International Sdn Bhd case appeal recently.
