Covid-19 (Oct 6): 1,794 new cases, 4 deaths

COVID-19 | The Health Ministry reported 1,794 new Covid-19 cases yesterday.

Active infections stood at 23,601, down 8.2 percent compared to 14 days ago.

New cases according to states are as follows:

Perak (162)
Sabah (132)
Negeri Sembilan (85)
Penang (85)
Kedah (76)
Malacca (58)
Sarawak (57)
Johor (45)
Kelantan (38)
Pahang (32)
Putrajaya (32)
Terengganu (25)
Perlis (8)
Labuan (1)

Another four deaths attributed to Covid-19 were reported yesterday in Selangor (3) and Pahang (1).

Since the start of the pandemic in March 2020, a total of 36,391 deaths have been attributed to the disease.

There are 948 Covid-19 patients who are hospitalised of which 36 are in intensive care.

The highest number of admissions yesterday was recorded in Selangor (85) followed by Sabah (71) and Johor (32).
