Covid-19 (Oct 12): 1,628 new cases, 1 death

COVID-19 | The Health Ministry reported 1,628 new Covid-19 cases yesterday.

Active cases stood at 22,145, down 12 percent compared to 14 days ago.

New cases according to states are as follows:

One death attributed to Covid-19 was reported yesterday in Pahang.

Over the past week, an average of 2.9 people were reported to have died of the disease, while the average for the past 30 days was 4.1, indicating that Covid-19 deaths are on the downtrend.

Since the start of the pandemic in March 2020, a total of 36,407 deaths have been attributed to Covid-19.

There are 905 Covid-19 patients who are hospitalised of which 41 are in intensive care.

The highest number of admissions yesterday was recorded in Selangor (104) followed by Sabah (70) and Johor (47).
