Covid-19 (Oct 27): 2,762 new cases, 4 deaths

COVID-19 | The Health Ministry reported 2,762 new daily Covid-19 cases yesterday.

Active cases currently stood at 28,720, up 21.9 percent compared to 14 days ago.

New cases according to states are as follows:

Penang (104)
Negeri Sembilan (94)
Sarawak (90)
Malacca (82)
Kedah (75)
Kelantan (74)
Pahang (68)
Johor (60)
Putrajaya (54)

Labuan (6)

Another four deaths attributed to Covid-19 were reported yesterday, of which two were declared as "brought in dead".

Since the start of the pandemic in March 2020, a total of 36,462 deaths have been attributed to Covid-19.

There have been 88 reported Covid-19 deaths this month. For comparison, there were 158 deaths last month and 247 deaths in August.

There are 1,170 Covid-19 patients who are hospitalised of which 47 are in intensive care.

The highest number of admissions yesterday was recorded in Selangor (121) followed by Sabah (75) and Johor (60).
