Rafizi predicts lead

PKR deputy president Rafizi Ramli has upped his projections for Pakatan Harapan, believing they have 90 seats in the bag and are on their way to crossing the 100 mark.

He believes Harapan will win big in Penang, Selangor, Kuala Lumpur and Negeri Sembilan, and do well in Perak, Malacca and Johor.

Previously, his analytics firm Invoke predicted that Harapan would win 80 seats, which Rafizi said may result in a hung Parliament.

Zahid cutting deals

BN may deny that Ahmad Zahid Hamidi is their PM candidate, but the coalition chief is not acting like it.

Zahid admitted to offering former foreign affairs minister Anifah Aman his old job back if BN wins - prompting the latter to campaign for Harapan.

Appointing cabinet ministers is the prime minister's job.

BN's prime minister candidate Ismail Sabri Yaakob did not know that Zahid was cutting deals behind his back.

Takiyuddin shot down

PAS secretary-general Takiyuddin Hassan claimed that if PN fails to win the election, it was open to cooperating with BN in order to form the government.

However, this was quickly shot down by PN chief Muhyiddin Yassin, who said Takiyuddin had no authority to make such arrangements.

PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang also said that it would be better for the party to be in the opposition if PN fails to win.

Takiyuddin defended his remarks, but also said it was taken out of context.
