Covid-19 (Dec 27): 423 new cases, 6 deaths
COVID-19 | The Health Ministry reported 423 new daily Covid-19 cases yesterday.
Active cases currently stood at 13,401, down 22.2 percent compared to 14 days ago.
New cases according to states are as follows:
Selangor (131)
Kedah (42)
Sarawak (41)
Kuala Lumpur (37)
Malacca (36)
Penang (33)
Johor (22)
Kelantan (18)
Negeri Sembilan (18)
Perak (16)
Pahang (10)
Sabah (9)
Terengganu (5)
Putrajaya (4)
Perlis (1)
Another six deaths attributed to Covid-19 were reported yesterday, of which one was declared as "brought in dead".
Over the past week, an average of 3.9 people were reported to have died of Covid-19, while the average for the past 30 days was 6.3, indicating that Covid-19 deaths are on the downtrend.
Since the start of the pandemic in March 2020, a total of 36,841 deaths have been attributed to Covid-19.
There have been 157 reported Covid-19 deaths this month. For comparison, there were 209 deaths last month and 101 deaths in October.
There are 686 Covid-19 patients who are hospitalised, of which 43 are in intensive care.
The highest number of admissions yesterday was recorded in Selangor (44), followed by Sabah (35) and Johor (21).
