Covid-19 (Jan 14): 287 new cases, zero deaths

COVID-19 | The Health Ministry said 287 new Covid-19 cases were reported yesterday, bringing the total cumulative cases to 5,032,433.

Active cases stood at 10,634, down 10.4 percent compared to 14 days ago.

New cases according to states are as follows:

Perak (21)
Sarawak (18)
Johor (17)
Malacca (17)
Negeri Sembilan (11)
Kedah (10)
Penang (9)
Terengganu (9)
Putrajaya (9)
Sabah (8)
Pahang (6)
Kelantan (1)
Perlis (1)
Labuan (0)

Zero deaths attributed to Covid-19 were reported yesterday.

Over the past week, an average of 4.9 people were reported to have died of Covid-19 daily, while the average for the past 30 days was 4, indicating that Covid-19 deaths are on an uptrend.

Since the start of the pandemic in March 2020, a total of 36,908 deaths have been attributed to Covid-19.

There are 439 Covid-19 patients hospitalised, of which 20 are in intensive care.

The highest number of admissions yesterday was recorded in Selangor (44), followed by Sabah (40), and Johor (10).
