Covid-19 (Jan 30): 202 new cases, 2 deaths

COVID-19 | The Health Ministry said 202 new daily Covid-19 cases were reported yesterday, bringing the total cumulative cases to 5,036,342.

Active cases currently stood at 9,539, down 7.6 percent compared to 14 days ago.

New cases according to states are as follows:

Selangor (81)

Kuala Lumpur (37)

Johor (17)

Kedah (14)

Perak (12)

Penang (8)

Sarawak (8)

Putrajaya (7)

Malacca (6)

Negeri Sembilan (6)

Pahang (3)

Sabah (2)

Kelantan (1)

Perlis (0)

Terengganu (0)

Labuan (0)

Another 2 deaths attributed to Covid-19 were reported yesterday - one each in Selangor and Perak.

Over the past week, an average of 1.4 people were reported to have died of Covid-19, while the average for the past 30 days was 3.0, indicating that Covid-19 deaths are on the downtrend.

Since the start of the pandemic in March 2020, a total of 36,942 deaths have been attributed to Covid-19.

There are 381 Covid-19 patients who are hospitalised of which 23 are in intensive care.

The highest number of admissions yesterday was recorded in Selangor (57) followed by Sabah (46) and Johor (10).
