Muhyiddin predicts end of Umno under Zahid

Muhyiddin dares MACC to probe Anwar, Zahid

Mazilamani: Everyone is becoming self-proclaimed astrologers. First, it was PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang and now Bersatu president Muhyiddin Yassin. The collective astrologers for politicians are the voting public. First, take care of your astrology that looks gloomy or dicey.

This is the way of a desperate politician who knows that his whole personal and political life and fortune are about to shatter. When you talk about Malays not being taken care of and that PKR has become a tool to further Pakatan Harapan rule, knowing that your popularity is eroding before your eyes.

Nuyiko: Donation is not a problem, but a donation in exchange for government contracts and appointments is corruption and power abuses, that's the problem. In this case, Muhyiddin was suspected to collect commissions as the middle person in exchange for awarding contracts, and the money involved is meant to help those suffering from the Covid-19 crisis. That's corruption and power abuse. Just because you are tainted, it doesn't mean others will be as dirty as you.

And Justice For All: Someone gives you money and says donation and another gives you money if you give them a project is two very different things Muhyiddin. One is called a donation while the other is a bribe. Don't pretend that you don't know the difference. But you are right that MACC should investigate everyone including Deputy Prime Minister and Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.

This is as long as the basis for understanding that there is a difference between a gift and a bribe is clearly defined.

Cogito Ergo Sum: It is Bersatu and its leadership that are facing a slew of criminal and bribery charges that reflects its impending doom. From the charges, it is alleged that individuals have either stolen or diverted funds meant for the Malays into their accounts. From the charges, it seems that it is Bersatu that has misled the community into believing it is the defender of race and religion.

Unfortunately, it seems to have been exploited both for the selfish benefit of a few at the party’s top echelon. No, Muhyiddin, it’s not Umno’s demise that is on the horizon but your party. Remember, it was Bersatu that was instrumental in bringing down a legitimate government through the Sheraton Move.

Apanama is back: What is this Muhyiddin? Your charges are based on abuse of power. But here you try to twist and turn like an eel. As for Anwar and Zahid, they are willing to be investigated by MACC if your claim is reasonable. If not, you wait for letters of demand from Anwar and Zahid. Will you sleep well tonight?

UNDECIDED: As an older and more established party, Umno will have a much better chance to survive than Bersatu regardless of who is president. This is especially so currently with the criminal charges against Bersatu's president and some of its top leaders because of the abuse of the Jana Wibawa scheme.

The most important question that remains is whether Umno wishes to continue beyond the unity government by accepting Harapan as an equal partner. If yes, the future of Malaysia is likely to be good.

IndigoToucan1627: Don't worry Muhyiddin. We are waiting to see what comes next. Receiving political donations is one thing but receiving political donations as a result of favours (like contracts, tax exemptions, etc) done for the donors is quite another. It is corruption. Know the difference! You have the chance to prove your innocence in a court of Law. After all, you are out on bail now and can continue your political activities like former prime minister Abdul Najib Razak did before he exhausted his final appeal at the Federal Court.

BlueFish0451: Muhyiddin, political funds collected from the businesspersons and the public through voluntary donations are different from the ones collected through abuse of power. Which businessperson or contractor would give hundreds of millions in donations without conditions? The huge donation in Najib's account was unbelievable. Now, are you expecting Malaysians to believe that the hundreds of millions of ringgit found in Bersatu's account is clean money?

Milshah: I remember Zahid faced similar charges. There was a ledger which contained a lot of nicknames. Will we see similar nicknames for Bersatu? Names like Twin Tower, Rockafella, Apanama or something like that. If I remember correctly, Zahid was acquitted, as the defence was the money was for political funding. Muhyiddin should just copy and paste the defence used by Zahid. It should work.

Anonymous_3f4b: Umno, MCA and MIC all from BN were bashed into oblivion by Harapan. Now they are in the same boat. Their ultimate demise will give rise to racial and religious parties like Bersatu and PAS. That is what happened if you vote out multi-racial, multi-religious and secular parties. The future will come back to haunt you.

Fair Play: This is Muhyiddin's biggest demonstration of bravado to date. When he was the eighth prime minister, he could have just done that. But that was not on his list of priorities. He had a far greater and more pressing priority in “addressing” the Covid-19 pandemic during the “emergency period” of his premiership. But no problem. He has plenty of time in the future to look back and wish he could have done differently. As you sow, so shall you reap.

BrownCheetah9736: Are any of these so-called nationalistic parties truly fighting for the Malays? After more than 50 years of pulling down education standards to accommodate, spoon-feeding and crutch-providing, our majorities have become a nation of Grab riders and bloated civil servants.

While these parties’ leaders and their cronies have plundered billions, the rest of their race has been relegated to receiving RM300 crumbs in whatever name they call those charitable monies. And even worse, they have to swear by the holy book their allegiance to vote for these parties.

I AM A MALAYSIAN: Muhyiddin said, “Umno’s rise and fall is none of our concern. What is concerning is the future of Malays and Muslims in this country." In a classic example of playing to the gallery. Muhyiddin is trying to gain the sympathy of Malay Muslims now that he and several leaders of PN are facing multiple corruption charges.

To rephrase Muhyiddin's own words, PN's rise and fall are none of Malaysians' concerns. What is concerning is the future of Malaysians in multi-racial, multi-religious Malaysia.
